At the present moment , the Canary Islands which belong to Spain, but are in fact off the coast of Africa is enjoying a plague of locusts. For more information on this phenomena, look at this link: Biblical Type Plague In Holiday Islands.... Well fine. It's a very hot place and these kind of things happen....

However, we live in the North, which at this time of the year,is cold - very cold. Imagine my surprise when, this evening, SWMBO, came home from work, to announce that in her college, there were locusts. Not as one might imagine, locusts for dissection, in the Biology labs. No, Locusts in the staffroom. One of her fellow teachers, has a friend, who has just been on holiday in the Canary Islands and rather than bringing back some tatty souvenir of the tatty islands, brought back a box with a couple of locusts. Not the 'dead-type' locusts, but live, kicking, old-testament type locusts. Now in case the locusts die of hypothermia, they have been put in a box beside a nice warm radiator....

Tomorrow just may be quite interesting. SWMBO is taking the digi-camera to school. Hopefully to capture images of the school stripped bare...

Whatever happens, you'll hear it first -on armoramalocustwatch.com ...Jim

An image of SWMBO's School on thursday morning?

One of my friends is in the Canary island right now. What a bummer. Paying for a holiday and then being run over by bugs.

Sad news. SWMBO came home today to announce that they had been terminated with extreme prejudice (for humane reasons).. So ladies and gentlemen, raise your glasses to the late departed locusts...Jim
