Wouldit be easier to scratch build in balsa wood or plastic? I'm think of building a kind of dropship from a sci-fi game.

Mike - Based purely on my own preferences and opinion: If you are building a large hulled vessel, and not going to build up the interior, you may wish to start with Balsa. You can then either clad the balsa in plastic or just add detail with plastic. For a small vessel or if your going to do the interior, plastic all the way. I think plastic will give you the better finish and detail "workablity".

Hey Mike, If is were me i'd use plastic, why, Faster glueing times, stronger, easier to form and not as thick as the basla wood sheets.

Evergreen Plastics Corp. Look for them at your local hobby shop or on the web.

Hey MAR,
Well you can start by going to your local hobby store and there you can find products like Evergreen Plastics. Comes in many shapes and sizes of rods, angles, channel, strips and in sheets. For gluing i use both super glue and TENAX, which kinda welds the plastic. The plastic cuts pretty easy with an xacto blade.
To make what you want, just draw up a plan on paper, cut it out tape it togather to see how it takes shape. Once your satisfied with the paper model then transfer on to the plastic sheet, cut and assemble. If you need more info just PM me and i'll try to answer the best i could. I'm sure someone else will share some more insight as well. Good luck.
