The neighbors had better watch out. This household has acquired a weapon of mass propulsion.
The boy (The Minister of Hyperactivity) and I have just completed inital field testing on the Liftenundgeflingen Ausf B Backyard Marshmallow Trebuchet.
Testing was halted when design and weight tweeking produced throws in excess of the 25ft tape measure.
The Ausf B is an improvement over the Ausf A with the fixed, non-pivoting counterweight. The Ausf A only produced throws of 10 feet.
Development of the Ausf C (early, differentiated from the late by paintscheme and counterweight mass) is ongoing.
Eventually the Ausf D and later will feature a true sling and trigger mechanism.
Janes Siege Weapons has been notified.

Nice! What did you throw and how far?
We were inspired by the folks at yankeesiege.com who, on the daty we were there threw a 10lb pumpkin a quarter of a mile!
Back to the woodshop.

Yeah, the safety thing...
The boy is really getting into the 'range officer' aspect of this whole thing.
He's the one telling me I can't throw flaming marshmallows...
