CA glue is also know as super glue. CA stands for Cyanoacrilate.
Using a accelerator It's great for building models.

I build my models using almost exclusively cyanoacrylate. It is also what you need for resin kits and photoetch. I find CA glue good to work with because there's no strings, even after it's been sitting for a while, it dries fast, even without accelerator (I don't use it), and it's good for filling small gaps. I apply the glue with a needle or wire. On some pieces, like two halves of a gun barrel, I will apply the glue along the seam line. After sanding, the line is no longer there.

So is it basically the same as super glue then?

It's sorta the same as super glue. Chemically, both are cyaonacrylic. The versions available in the supermarket are not the best for filling gaps, too thin and runny. Zap a Gap brand is available in hobby stores and is generally thicker. It comes in a bottle that you'll find easier to use. Accelerator, such as Zip Kicker, causes the super glue, even in larger amounts, to cure instantly. The down side of this is the producton of a significant amount of heat and the stuff itself will temporarily soften plastic. It is a godsend when you need to have the glue set veryy fast to hold something in place with a strong bond, such as a warped part.

Super glue IS CA.
It is probably the most convenient glue around, but there's a warning :
watch out for your fingers. When in contact with certain materials (paper, fabrics...) , it can develop fumes. Don't breathe them and don't get them in your eyes !
Keep the stuff out of children's reach, and don't spill any on your clothes.

if you use specialized hobby CA glue, there's also a "debonder" on the market that allows you to remove cured glue.

CA glue is also known as Super Glue. In other words, they are one and the same. Take your pick on the many brands that market it.

Like what the others said, it's very handy most of the time but use it sparingly and do not use it on clear parts.

Its really good. Although that is just my opinion. For me, I use superglue exclusivly. Thats all I use, I don't fiddle with plactic cement. I just use that. Its faster, and I don't have to wait for an hour. So it saves time on buildin, and its easy to use.
