Hello all,
I have been lurking here for a while, and seeing as everyone is so helpful and friendly I have been encouraged to register and start posting myself. I've also being impressed with how talented everyone seems to be - I can see I have a lot of room for improvement!
I'm returning to the hobby after a 15year break as the birth of my son has meant I'm spending more time at home now :-)
My current main project is a 1/72 diorama of a Lancaster being armed and fuelled. It's hopefully going to be a Christmas present for my Grandfather as he was a Flight Engineer on Lancs with 100 and 166 Squadrons. I have managed to find a set of decals for a Lanc of 100Sqdn from around the time he was there, so hopefully the model will be an emotional gift as well!
My main area of interest is 1/35 WWII AFV and I've built up a cupboard full of kits to build - mostly bought cheaply on ebay. When I can find the camera I'll add some pics of my work to my gallery: Looking at the quality of everyone else's work I'll need some advice, I reckon!!
Anyway, that's me
Cheers,

Sean

Welcome to Armorama. Don't worry about the standard of everyone elses models, just try to do what most of us do - try and make each one better than the one before. If you need help or advice just ask - there's always someone here that'll come back to you.

Yep,
Welcome to the most "un-clicky", sociable, friendliest and informative modelling forum on the net!
I really wish I had had chance to do something like your wanting to do for my Granddad.
I lost mine 2 months ago, he was a Bren gun mechanic and after I got back into " the scene" again, I wanted to at least buy him some books on them or make him a diorama of "the one he crashed through a china shop window!!"
Sadly, after his heart attack, it was a matter of days before he passed away and I never got chance

I am sure you will enjoy this place, forever helpfull

I'm afraid so - thankfully concentrating on a model distracts me from the pain!

Wow - thanks for all the replies guys! :-)
I've up loaded some pics to me gallery. The Lanc is finished, I think, so I'm working on the base, accessories and bomb dollies - I'll definitely upload a pic of the whole thing when it's finished, but in the meantime you can see the 3 main vehicle models that will be part of it.
The Pak and german infantry will form a small, simple dioarma, and essentially have been built as a learning exercise.
In weeks to come the Sherman will have a lot of extra stowage and maybe some heavier weathering.
Anyway, thanks for the warm welcome and I hope you enjoy my builds!
Cheers
