I saw a blurb on MSN today that there was a remake in the works for the classic James Stewart movie Flight of the Phoenix. It mentioned that Dennis Quaid was the star. That's a pretty good movie, I hope they do it justice. One change I noticed in the picture is at least one woman in the survivors.

Another artifact of the creative void that is Hollywood.
Aren't there 100's of great books still waiting to get turned into movies?
The original 'Phoenix' was awesome. How could it be made better?

Couldn't agree more. Every time we turn around there's another crap remake in the works...Psycho, Manucurian Candidate...etc. Now this?? The thing is, Hollywood is afriad of taking a "risk". And an original story would be a risk in Hollywood's mind.

I loved the original. Loved it. I saw the commercial for the remake and it looked decent. Hollywood is clearly out of ideas. Anyone seen the commercial for the new "Fat Albert" movie? Enough said.

I saw the trailer "commercial" last night I like the original one as well.
Fat Albert?!? I think that will go straight to video like the Scooby Doo movies. I mean do today's kids even like that? Hey - it's a movie for kids based on a cartoon that went off the air 15 years before you were born! You should love it becasue I loved the cartoon when I was your age......right?
