I bought a resin detail kit for a DUKW that I'm building and have had many problems with getting glue to take on it. The worst problem was with gluing on the handles of the gas cans. I tried super glue, liquid cement and modeling cement (in the tube) and none of them would hold.
Is there a specific type of cement that needs to be used? Or is there some type of surface pre that I need to do before gluing?

Hey Cary...
Normally I use Superglue for resin, and I haven't got any problems with that!! Be sure that both surfaces are clean and de-greased, and roughen-up the surfaces a bit, for better adhesion.
Just my two cents, John.

Agree with Dragonwagon, you need to make sure that the parts are clean and grease free. Once that's done, the parts should adhere using normal super glue

Just clean the parts in a bath of mild soap (hand soap) and luke warm water (not hot -distorts small parts).

Thanks guys. Since I didn't bother cleaning them before assembly, that must be the problem then.

Verlinden kits are a must for cleaning, some of the others clean then before shipping. Just clean them all and you'll alwaysbe OK

Another option to glueing resin is two-part epoxy; it gives you more time to put the parts in place then superglue does.
Good luck, and I hope all works out,
