what if rommel did happen to defeat the british at elalamein, wouldnt he have a clear road to Jeruselem? i know they had the odds stacked against them, but if the germans won and did reach the holiest of jewish sites...what would happen

Hm, I don't think the Germans were interested in Jerusalem... They were after the Middle East oil fields and kicking out the British on the go. The Suez canal was also a plus and... an eventual link up with the Japanese in Asia.

i was wondering because if they conquered the area near jerusalem, they would have basically encircled the medeterranian
