Well after two years of modeling I finally purchased Building Dioramas #1 Shep Paine and Osprey Terrain Modeling. I hope they will help improve my work. They wont be here until friday so I guess Ill wait until they get here before I go any further on my projects.

I highly recommend Sheps book to everyone starting out in the hobby.
You find a lot of answers to a lot of questions in it.

Edit---- I don't get a commision for recomending Sheps book.
if you are into figures.... I recommend tracking down a long out of print book
by Henri Lyons... called "My Way" Been out of print for about 20 years.

That is the perfect conbination! Shep's book does not have as much informaion on terrain, but it has loads of it on painting figures, weathering and battle damage, diorama planing and diorama basics.

Brilliant choices! I bought the Shep Paine book a few months ago. Brilliant! Changes ones entire outlook! The osprey book is on my X-mas "wishlist". (I think it'' come attached to a case of Heineken - a "To me, From me" :-) )
Apparently the Osprey Terrain Modelling book is brilliant. Must admit though, I was a bit disappointed by the content of Osprey's Modelling and Painting Figures and Modelling WWII Figures. That said though, the pictures were great, and give plenty of inspiration. Won't put me off the rest of the series.
