just got my Eastern Express 1941 late version in the mail from Hannants and the one think I desperatley need...
Reference!
The first 2 pages on google images are good, but the rest are pixelated game icons and pictures of other people's models. So, could anyone please direct me in a desirable direction before I spend my model budget on a book (I'll buy some soon enough, but I want to hold out and get the information for free as long as possible )

thanks for the help, but what I would really love are some close-up pictures of the tank, since I want to get detailing right.
Also, do any experts know if I could convert this model to a kv-1e simply by adding the huge rivets? or are there structural changes...

The KV-1E was a very different animal to the one you have, to model one you will need to change the turret, road wheels and return rollers to the earlier versions. And that's before adding the extra armour.......
To make up for it there are some nice books about the KV out there. These include the Osprey New Vanguard (which coincidentally has Merciless as one of the colour plates). Most of the others are in Polish or Russian, but are worth buying for the photo coverage.
Military Modelling magazine in the UK has also just run a series on the KV with useful information and shots of the preserved tanks at Aberdeen and Bovington.
