I've put my ships on hold (lack of reference, parts, etc) and building up two Tamiya 1/35 Challengers (1 and 2) during my sem break.
The Tami Chally 2 is being 'de-desertized', having made scratchbuilt skirts (the Trump Chally 2 skirts are too short - comparing with Concord's 1/35 line drawing - if they're correct), replaced/replacing all handles/tie downs with metal wire, adding film negatives behind the vision blocks/periscopes/TOGS to 'tint' them, scavenging parts from Trump Chally 2 to Tami Chally 2.
The Chally 1 is getting a similar make over: all molded-on handles and tie downs are being replaced with metal wire. This will be in Euroland scheme as well, not desertized (I'm getting a bit *tired* seeing desertized Challengers).
The Chally 1 will be in King's Royal Hussars markings, while the Chally 2 will be in Scots Dragoon Guards markings.
Will post pictures of them unpainted (to show the modifications) and when completed, as soon as they reach those stages.
I also have an oooooooooooold Tamiya Sheridan kit in the pipeline. Gathering more references to super-detail it into an 3/73d, 82d Airborne Sheridan (and I have contact with the actual vets who used it in the Gulf War!
)
