Hi All:
Now that winter has arrived in this cold north, it's time to get back to the great hobby of modelling.
Anyone know how to make your own photo etched parts, what chemicals/materials are used , methods used. Is there any good web sites? Any hobby shop I've been to has had precious
little in the way of PE parts, and these are to costly to keep the "fun" in modelling.
Cheers

Micromark.com has a new photoetch system. Try this page: http://www.ares-server.com/Ares/Ares.asp?MerchantID=RET01229&Action=Catalog&Type=Product&ID=83123

I just bought a graphics pad, now that they are under $100. I have scanned another photo-etch piece that I need a number of. Then I used black and gray and white to color the thicker, thinner and no brass areas respectively.
Then I copied the drawing on the transfer paper, ironed it on the steel-wooled brass and then did the Tommy-tippy-cup thing with the etching chemical. Success!

Your right, but there always seems to be other negleted things to attend to in the summer (bloody grass!) But ANY season is the right season for our great hobby!
