"Future" is short for Future Floor Wax, which is an acrylic Floor wax, it can be sprayed or brushed on and can be used pre- and post-decal application to give the decal a better surface. also useful for Wahes, sealing layers of paint and a bunch of other stuff. I am just a beginner so i don't know much about it but thats what i know.

If you apply it to the area you will be putting decals, it prevents the silvering caused by putting a decal on a surface that is not smooth.

Quick explanation: shiny surfaces are very smooth, so to make something shiny, Future fills in all of the small imperfections that also trap air behind the decal causing the silvery look when dry. If you apply a couple of coats after the decal is dry, it serves to seal the decal as well as blend in the edge of the decal with the rest of the model. The Future is drawn to the area where the decal ends and smooths it out.

Hope that makes some sense.

Oh, FYI - future before washes makes washes flow easier, but make sure you dullcote or matte finish it before you do any drybrushing.

A dull suface is a bumpy surface, so drybrushing works better on a dull surface. Exact opposite of why washes work better or a shiny surface.

If you use it in your airbrush you can clean it with ammonia, regular ol household stuff. Also if you use it on a model you can get it off if need with ammonia. Yes it sticks, so you can cut the ammonia a little if needed. Do that and your gun will be fine. I found a artical in one forum I'll try to locate it again. It was called "The Complete Future" so you might be able to google it.
