Hello people! I have this weird question (considering I have done lots of models). How do you use decal setting solution? I have never used the stuff (set or sol) so i need guidance and tips on how to use them safely (that is without damaging the decals that is). Thank you in advance!

Valkyrie,

setting solution basically composed of two type the first one is the setting solution. few brand in the market, unfortunately i only found ModelMaster decal solution in KL (as told earlier to oraora)...
however i did manage to beli kat US the Micro Set and Micro Sol.

How to use?? hmm..simple, just paint your model as usual...to eliminate silvering effect, try to coat your model with clear gloss before decalling. when all the coat have dried, then take a brush, dip in the solution. Apply the solution to area to be decalled. Then decal as usual. Remove excess air bubble and solution. if required, apply once more solution over the decal.

the second set of the solution is much stronger. use to comform decal to complex surface ie. radome, missile etc..etc
to use this, one must follow the above step. When all decal have been place, wipe excess water. then apply this strong solution over the decal carefully. Then set aside and do not touch the decal for 24 hrs. After 24 hrs, if neccesary re apply solution to 'stuborn decal'.
if decal run through panel line, cut along the panel line and reapply solution. let for 24 hrs (approx)..

hope this help

hmm i order from www.greatmodels.com. at that time they dont have min order set. Now order must be above USD 10.. and this two solution is cheap..if not mistaken 1 bottle is about $1.7 ..
other option u may try the testor modelmaster decal solution. I bought mine at Bran Ryan, Mid Valley Megamall. Good luck mate!!!
