Hi, from Ohakea, near Palmerston North. My main modelling interest is military figures, although I have an interest in aircraft as well. Particularly modern jets particularly RNZAF and RAAF aircraft. I don't get much modelling done these days since I spend far too much time on the internet looking at sites like this one!
I'm 28 and a photographer/ex-armourer in the RNZAF.

Hi Gunnie,
Welcome to armorama, IMHO the best modelling site online, there are a few kiwis active on the BIG "A" hopefully you will become one of them.
My Modelling interests are US WWII AFV's and figures/Dio's.

Gidday Gunnie
Great to hear from you.
I know Ohakea well.
Yes this darn internet can be both a blessing and a curse. It can certainly consume a lot of spare time thats for sure.
At the moment I am a little stalled on projects not due to internet use but work/project committments.
I am into armour and vehicles but I have a soft spot for RNZAF stuff. I was living in Auckland as a very very young boy the day the Skyhawks arrived in Auckland and they bought them up the North Western motorway. Our house overlooked the Te Atatu South offramp and I stood watching them go past in bits on big trucks. I think they closed the whole motorway to do it but I could be wrong after all it was a long time ago.
I have a soft spot for skyhawks, irquios and hercules as well.
Keep in touch
Warm regards

Hi Jason,
Welcome to the site...it has to be the best online!!!! :-).
in the way of AB's Double action is basically must if you want to do anything but basic spraying. In regards to buying them in NZ.....I have found that Hardware stores seem to be the cheapest look for stores that sell a good range of tools. Another good store is Gordon Harris art supplies (not sure if there is one in Wellington) they have the AB plus spares which is always good.

Hi Jason
Great to see you have enlisted at Armorama.
Andy's advice as reagrds AB's is very sound. Whilst I am not as talented as Andy I just use a Tamiya Sprayworks set and it is fine as a starter intro set. I will be a better one soon.
I will check out Gordon Harris myself next time I am in there with my wife.
See you around.
Regards
