Just finished watching "Patton" and I have a question. In the scene where Patton first shows up in Africa in a halftrack, the halftrack is flying 2 flags. One is the general flag but the othe has WTF on it, what does WTF stand for?
Thanks
Eric

Uh....Forum rule #23B - No offensive language? No masking swear words?
Doh!
Suffice to say I really don't think he had that on his staff car. Someone will tell us I am sure what the Army acronym WTF stood for. The only thing I got via Google was "Western Tank Farm".

It might more reasonably mean Western Task Force. I'll have to do some research.

I know that this an answer to an old post but I thought you might still be looking for the answer. ModlrMike is correct, "WTF" does, did, stand for "Western Task Force". For some reason I remembered you asking this question so I looked up the answer today. I found it in Ballantine's Illustrated History of WWII, War Leader Book No. 1, on page 8. I don't know if you are still interested or not but I thought I would let you know what it stood for. Enjoy the Holidays. (:-)

Now there is a classic reference book. I must have at least 50 of those in my collection. Most of which I bought for a buck a pop.
