Hi All
Thought you might find this story interesting, but perhaps you wont lol.
I went to school with a guy many years ago who went on to Agricultural Collage part of his course was animal husbandry(sheep) during his gap year he decided to go to Argentina and combine travell and the Sheep thing dont laugh.
All was going well he travelled quite exrtnsivley inland and down the coast and his intention was to go to the Falklands where he had friends at Goose Green and to spend the next 6/7 months on the Island.
he had marked on his map places of interest ports etc.
While he was on the Falklands the Argentinans invaded then the nightmare began, when they took over Goose green they interrogated Andy and were convinced that he was SAS/SBS as unbeknown to him some of the areas that he had marked on his map were very sensitive in fact the staging areas for the invasion Como Rivdareia etc (not sure about spelling)
the inlisted men he told me were on the whole were ok but one perticular group of officers were pretty unpleasent they kept him on his own from the rest of the inhabitants and tied him up with fencing wire, they got him to dig a whole behind one of the buildings(grave like) would blind fold him knell him on the edge and fire with an auto past the side of his head this happened about 4 times as they were convinced he had info.
All in all a pretty terrorfying ordeal how ever after the fall of Goose Green to the Paras and the inhabitants were being processed what had happened to Andy filtered out, on the day that they were moving out the Argentian POWS Andy was getting his belongings together in the village hall the door opened and a gruby faced Para cpl
pushed the worst offending officer who had in fact been givern up by his own men.
Andy was quite a big fella and a great rugby player Andy then took the oppourtunity to have a little Chat!!!!! with the individual before he was sent on his way,it also turned out that some of the officers had to be kept well away from the conscripts for there own saftey.
So the best thing to do is write on your map when you get HOME.

Cheers Tango 20 chris
