I just finished up a hasegawa 1/72 m24 chaffee and i wanted to put some tow cables on the deck to crowd it a little more, what's my best bet for making tow cables in 1/72?

I got some dark brown ship building thread that was thicker than normal and used lead foil to make the ends. It turned out well, at least to me. I also added some paint to it for a more realisich finish. For 1/72 you could get a thinner piece and it should work out if you want to try it. the thread was purchased at Hobbytown USA.

I'd use thin wire (like the inside of telephone line) to make the end part, and strong sewing thread (military type) for the cable... My 2€cts.

A fellow micro armor dude out-there? HERO!!! I was beginning to think I was the only one! I've used the heavy guageshipbuilders rigging thread, and I have some fine electrical wire. You have to strip off the insulation and increase the twist of the wiresbefore making the end loops before glueing in place. Paint steel and put a brown wash over it---its harder to work with, but the end appearance looks more like steel cable.

Have you ever tried the copper wire route Iron-fist on this never have worked in this small a scale eyes have a hard time seeing to work in 1/35 scale. But the copper wire might work for you might want to try it
