Hi. I am a beginner to the the hobby (at least for this century)

I was wondering which plastic glues are the quickest bonding and which are the strongest?

Am I wrong to assume that the longer a glue takes to adhere two plastic parts translates to the strongest bond?

And so the quicker the adhesion the weaker the bond?

I am open to suggestions for favourite glues for Styrene...

Cheers, Reddog

The fastest bonding plastic cement I've used is "Pro-Weld" from Ambriod. It bonds extremely fast, so much so that you had better to be ready to mate the parts as soon as you apply the cement. I find it great for sheet styrene work. As to it's bond strength, I thing it is less strong than the "Tenax 7R" I use for almost everything else. I have been able the seperate parts that I used Pro-Weld on without too much damage.

When I feel the need for a very strong bond I use "Gap Filler CA".

No scientific testing here just my experience.
