I'm thinking of dabbling and casting some kitbags and the like in 1/35 and was wondering if anyone could let me know of a decent 'friendly' starting brand available in the U.K. I apologize for the other topic title 'resin' my computer seemed to have a mad minute.

I think I got to start an online business here, I can get hold of this stuff by the truck loads...

Anyway, contact these guys http://www.altropol.de/index.html , they can tell you who sells their stuff in the UK.

Hi Tom

I get my stuff from an art shop in Theale, near Reading in Berkshire. It's only 15 minutes drive from where I live.

www.tiranti.co.uk

I have been moulding equipment, wheels and things for about a year and I am quite pleased with the results. It took a little bit of practice and a few mistakes...but then you learn from mistakes.

I use silicon rubber for the moulds (don't be afraid to use oodles of releasing agent to prevent the halves sticking together) and Biresin G26 two-pack resin and hardener. It's fairly expensive but it comes in 1kg tins which last a long time.

The people in Tiranti's are very helpful, even over the telephone.

Hope this helps

Cheers
