Gents,

Really appreciate all the help on which airbrush and compressor to buy. If I have a PAASCHE VL brush and Iwata compressor do I need an adapter? Besides the Airbrush and compressor are there any other things I need? I'm a complete novice mind you.

I'm going to get another compressor (silent, oil-less, own air tank) but just wanted to get something to start with.

I don't have an Iwata compressor, but in answer to the other items a pressure indicator/regulator is a must and if the compressor doesn't have a tank you will need a moisture trap too. My guess is the Iwata has the normal 1/4 inch hook-up on it, you will need to have an adaptor that will attach your hose to the compressor, most hoses have a 1/8 inch connection, but if you are going to sink money into a unit buy a good hose, the plastic types tend to get brittle over time, a good rubber/cabled hose will last much longer (and is usable for many types of A/Bs and compressors too).

Here's a hint :

I use an Aztec now, and the cheapest compresser I could get my hands on.
It works well, but it's a bit noisy.
I discovered I can muffle most of the noise by placing the compressor on a block of styrofoam instead of placing it straight on the (wooden) floor. Now I can even paint while junior has a nappie in the room right underneath !
