I thought I'd save me some money and buy the Academy humvee's, only problem (I care about ) is that there rear-view mirrors look really awefull...
Is there anyone out there who tried scratch-building the new style mirrors, and if so, how did you do that?
Thanks in advance!

Maybe this can help you a little :
http://www.tpub.com/content/hummer/TM-9-2320-280-20-3/css/TM-9-2320-280-20-3_153.htm

I've prefered breaking the piggy bank open and buying the Tamiya kit ( hum..4 kits in fact ) rather than modifying the Academy Humvee I already had on my shelf (but I do not mean I've bought them for this only reason ! ) and I don't regret it...

Maybe google??

I found these sites always by excedent. :-) :-)
I don't have any idea.
I'd like also know how you find these sites?

It's just a kind of luck, I think.

You're right, luck has something to do with it, but patience too I usually use Google or Alltheweb.com, then I try several words combinations related to my search and see what I find....Even if it takes a long time to browse down the list of results. I've got ADSL at work and some time to spare (don't tell my boss )
I've came across tpub.com while searching for TMs online as I have problems with the LOGSA website : many interesting things about US army stuff

ok go ahead and laf, but hit ya dollar stores, check out the dolls for kids area, and some of them have accessories for doll bedrooms, bathrooms, etc. there you can find the mirrors. some are small on the hand mirrors, and some are larger for the walls etc....

Jurgen, do the stores in the Netherlands have anti-theft strips attached to items being sold? I know in America, there I found that once the plastic strip is cut open you can find small strips of polished aluminum (?) I cut them done to fit into my M966 mirrors and they looked great. Especially since they are reflective enough to see yourself in them. Hope this helps
