Looks nice, but the lighting of the pic's makes it difficult to see the colors right. Nice subject and I like the Gilly suit.

The figure is cool, Nicely blended and camoflaged.
I would add more ground to the base, probably a half inch all around.

Nice job I like it

nice job, although the bright light makes it hard to see the entire work!

Darn good job. I agree on more groundwork... give it a wider base and he will look more.. well... grounded.

It is really neat though. What did you use to make this out with? Fully sculpted or used a figure for a base? I like it a lot.

hi,

Quoted Text

What did you use to make this out with? Fully sculpted or used a figure for a base?

I used a Tamiya head (i chopped it off ) the torso is miliput (not many detail because it would be covered later on) and the legs are also chopped of an old tamiya fig (don't know wich kit).I scratchbuilded a sniper rifle using a lee-eenfeld rifle from a spare parts box and glued a little scope on it made of plastic tube.

The suit is made of strips of gauze ,rope, toilet paper, and some other things i found around the house.First i made some sort of jacket with toilet paper and a white glue mixture.when it dried i applied some rope and pieces of gauze using the same mixture ..i let i dry during night.

Finnaly i painted the figure using revell enamel's (olive drab and different shades of green and brown) ,applied a heavy wash of burnt sienna and drybrushed with the same colors after adding some white. When the fig was still drying i added some mud made of white wood glue, static grass and som oil paint..and earth mostly on the boots and legs.

the groundwork was made of dried grass from the garden and some styrodur...and the base is very smal because the styrodur shrinked and melted awey when i tried to paint it .

Hope you guys liked my first fig.

Q, Nice to see another "Q" here on the site. Good subject to tackle and a difficult one at that. The styrofoam shrinking (Closer to melting actually) happened to me while doing a large scale figure. It is very important to make sure the foam is completely sealed from the paint that will go on or you end up with the results you had happen. As the others have already stated, the lighting makes it hard to see the figure well. Once commment for you on the figure, all of the foliage is a bit too long. When I went through sniper school we were taught to try and keep the lengths of the fabric to about 3" around the facial area to prevent blinding/ obscurring your vision. Other than that, it looks pretty good. Would like to see some better pics of this guy if at all possible. Good job. "Q"
