Hey guys.
i am not sure where i should post this, so here it is.
I would like to add a crater or two to my next diorama. I just do not know approximately how big they should be.
Any of you ex- artilery boys have any ideas about how big an impact crater for a mortar, or 105mm gun might be in soft, grassy terrain? I am talking Width/diameter nad depth.
Thanks.

105mm crater would be rather small. About a meter across and depending on the angle it went in at, would be longer than wide. The lower the angle, the longer the furrow.

Also need to take into account the type of ground the round impacts. Fusing is also a determining factor.
