Follow the link to a funny short video of where not to land an amphibious assault.
Good thing it wasn't night time or real...could have been very bad for the lads.

Sorry about this guys but be careful when viewing the video. If you click on The ads around the video will take you to adult sites...all except the ING Banking one anyway.

Apologies to anyone offended.

Almost looks like they picked that bit of beach on purpose.. sort of a gag reel as it were. I know that it would be no fun cleaning up all the weapons and gear, but they seemed to run right into the soup.
Even the one guy who started to go left, turned back into the muck.

Still, makes me glad amphibious assault is not part of MY job description.

Maybe their CO played a joke on them and ordered them to land there!

Heh heh, nice clip.

I remember a few of years ago the Royal Marines were exercising a landing at Gibraltar. One of the boats went off course and actually landed some troops on a beach in Spain.
Typically there was some guy there with a video camera and the "invasion of Spain" appeared on the news. You could make out the embarrassed faces on the troops as they hurriedly jumped back aboard the boat and headed back out to sea.

I wonder if wars have started over accidents like that?

Something like that happened over here too... just that they covered things up discreetly...

Of cause, the guy who landed at the wrong place got charged.
