Hi All:

I'm new to Armorama, and I'm impressed with the quality of both talent and expertise.
Can anyone tell me what the "tripod " strapped to the back of the schwimmwagens I've seen in some pictures is for , and did they all have them?

It is a machine gun tripod used when the passenger side machine gun is dismounted for ground use. I have seen Schwimmwagen photos without the tripod. I guess if the Schwimmwagen has a machine gun, it most likely has a tripod and if it doesn't have a machine gun, it probably doesn't have a tripod.
