German tanks uses whatever they could find for camouflage: branches, bushes etc..

what do you guys use to simulate all those? and how do you do it?

I have been thinking about the same thing. Maybe use exactly the thing you just mentioned. It may sound stuppid, but if you use very little paint, a piece of very fine cloth would give the same effect as a course rag 1:1.
Or cut of an old paint brush to get short bristles.

Ola Spiritseye

Well one thing you really have to look out for when you use branches that it`s all good looking in scale. You don`t want to big branches or it will look odd. I myself have done some tests with reeds and grasses for Camo and the results were quite ok actually. I have some pics of the reed test I did.

I sadly don`t have pics of the various grasses I tested but they are about the same results as the reed technique

Another example of splendid camo was done on this Mobelwagen from Keenan wich he made for the Remember Market Garden Campaign. I don`t know exactly what he used but to me it also looks like it is some sort of grass. If you PM him I`m sure he will explain what exactly he used.

Another few examples of using grass for Camoflage is from a ducth modeler with the Name Jochem Kleerebezem

Here he uses Asparagos for Camo

Another sort of camo but then with Moss still from Jochem Kleerebezem

Etc. Etc. Plenty of options for camo I hope this is of some help to you.

Completely forgot about that one Robert! I used dried flowers from the craft store. Just looked around until I found something I thought would look good. I have also had good luck using dried tree roots. Pull up some small trees in the spring, wash them off and let them dry out. I have a Brummbar at home that I did this way and it looks pretty good.

Shaun

Try getting this book. Not sure it inlcudes all the camos of every tank, but according to the reviews its a must-have for every tank-model nut

Amazon.co.uk book

Read the reviews a few pages down on that site.

Caspia...find it at one of those stores that cater to womens hobbies (in US go to hobby Lobby) I bought a bunch of caspia for a few bucks years ago....it was bright yellow....a can of forest green spray paint and extremely realistic looking tree branches also a how to for making trees/bushes. pick up some very small twiigs from a hardwood tree. cut and glue using "super glue" to form basic shape. add caspia sections until you get the fullness you desire, I think I have a picture or two in my gallery. a tiger tank in ambush setup
