And when I say that, I mean really spill....like an entire jar of Tamiya cement right in the MIDDLE of your work area.....heh. If so lets just say I feel your pain.

Sounds like my wife, I refuse to hand her anything worth more than 5 bucks or anything remotely breakable/spillable....If I do I can count on it doing just that...heh.

I feel your Pain .... I have dropped glue on some of my work as well as had glue residue on my fingers when I picked up some of my work.... But, the one time that took my breath away was when I was using the "cup" on the airbrush to touch up the primer coating on my aircraft, and Accidently, dropped it on the table and splattered most of it on my canopy ....

Talk about a panic.........needles to say during the clean up process, my canopy was scratched and fogged...

Then that is when I read an arcitcal on dunking your canopy in Future....
After a light sanding, all was well.....

It happened to me also. Spilt Liquid Poly over an old Airfix Storch and totally ruined the wing. Lucky the kit wasn't a better one. Learnt my lesson though, since that day my bottles of glue sit in coffee jar lids that have been weighted down with plasticine. Still have the occasional spill but it now needs a hefty knock to upset the bottle.

Never knocked over the Tamyia cement, but did it many times with the Testors bottles, and FAR TOO MANY TIMES the Tenax 7R. I now tranfer my Tenax to an empty Tamyia extra thin bottle, I like the pointed brush in the Tamyia bottle also.

After knocking over of Tenax I vowed that it would never happen again. I epoxied the bottle to a thick triangle (3x3x3 inches, 1/4" thick) of plastic. (This could be wood, iron, concrete) Now the bottle is as "spill proof" as I can make it.

I did once spill tamiya extra thin cement all over my workbench and over the road wheels of my tiger.

What I did was to quickly turn all of the wheels upside down so that the wet part didn't stick to anything and didn't loose its shape, all of this I did before it melts.

The instructions and my tools also got wet, but the nice thing about this is that this solvent just evaporates leaving no residue, so after an hour everything was normal again

Well its good to know that I am not alone in this little modeling mishap fun, I have to say that I was pretty lucky and didnt get any of the glue on my finished artillery piece....which I had completed about 30 minutes before and moved to the other end of my table. One of the figures I was building will never be the same tho.....kinda looks like a chem attack victim...

I build models in the bunk area of my truck The lower bunk can be either a bed or table chair combo like I have it set up now

Last nite I was building some DML indy links and had a section of 20 links put together, but not glued I went to get the bottle of glue-Testors-and knocked it over

Good news is that the spill hit the links and glued them together I got them up before they melted or stuck to the table

Bad news is that it took a few hours for the fumes to go away It is a small area and I had to keep the windows open for the fumes to go away
