need help. i'm trying to build a .50 machine gun (vietnam eara). so what i need is close up pics, sizes. i will be using pvc,plastis and maybe wood. this project is for the navel and servicemans park in buffalo,ny. a few men and myself are revamping a uh-1d and we need a fifty hung of it. we tryed asking the milirary for help but no luck. thanks guys...

A M-60D might be more appriate for a Huey.

This one is not quite right for a VN era gun.

Steve is right I do not beleive there were any 50's mounted on the UH1D's. All the Choppers I saw had the M-60's mounted on them.

There were a few that had .50s. Mainly, if I remember right, they were Seawolf (Navy Hueys). Once crews found that the airframe could handle the sheer power and vibration it caused, they were used. But they were rare.

hey steve, thanks very much for the sites. they will come in handy. the uh-1d did have .50s on board.(some)... i have some of the huey books that show some,also the second web site you provided shows too. i'm not trying to second gess you either and the sites will help in the project. now were can i find the sizes, length and witdths. thanks for loking out. you know i might go with the 60. as soon as we get started i'll post pics.
