I'm off tonight to see Jimmy Buffet at the Tweeter center in Chicago. Took tomorrow off from work but I don't expect I'll feel like doing any building. Any other parrott heads out there?

Hi Don:

I have been a Parrothead since 1978. Unfortunately no concert here in Houston this year (so far). Have fun at the concert.

Parrot Head for almost two decades! I didn't get a chance to see him up here in Washington this year . Maybe next year.
What do you folks think about his latest CD, License To Chill? Personally, I think it's his best in a while.

The weather is here, I wish you were beautiful.

It was a great show guys and the weather was great for Chicago in August. He sang a lot of new songs off his license to chill CD and of course all the old favorites. Martina McBride made a guest appearance and sang a duet with Jimmy thats on the new CD called trip around the sun. Get the new CD guys its great. The guy still rocks after 30 yrs on the road

Cool to see there are a bunch of Parrottheads on here.

I can imagine the concert was good, all the ones I've been to were great.

Still deciding whether I'll be able to go to Vegas in October. And the new CD is a pretty solid effort.

Man, that was hard to type, maybe because

"I have been drunk now for over two weeks..."

Not really, but maybe not such a bad idea. Good way to take the mind off work.

"if we weren't all crazy we would go insane..."

Been part of the tribe for about 10 yrs, but haven't made a Labor Day weekend show in a lllloooonnngggg time.
He doesn't make it too far up east here too often and then I've had no luck getting tickets.
I'll keep trying.

New CD is good but a little too far back to the country days.. no don't get me wrong, I like "West Nashville Grand Ballroom Gown" as much as the next guy, but it's the island vibe that makes Buffett special for me.

"Drive in....guzzle gin....commit a little mortal sin...it's good for your soul..."

"...a monogrammed towel and a bucket of ice
A chest-of-drawers and a mirror that lies
Mirror that lies, a mirror that lies
That couldn't be me in the gorilla disguise..."

"Somebody's locked in the bathroom
Manager can't find the key
I pity that man but from where I stand,
It's lookin' like the prisoner is me"

Oh yeah, a Parrothead since the first time I heard "Margaritaville" on my dad's country radio station back in the 70's. I even accidentally named my daughter after his two girls...I liked the name Delaney after hearing "Delaney Talks to Statues" from the Fruitcakes CD...asked my wife to come up with a name that sounded good with it, and she picked Savannah. Turns out those are the names of his daughters...ooooooo, creepy serndipity...

How could anyone not like a man whose entire musical career has been spent reminding us to enjoy life?
