OK, I'm sort of in panic right now, I just sprayed a clear coat on my nicely finished M1A1. when the clear coat dried, the area around the decals started to get really white, I suspec that the Microset is the guilty one, because I didn't seal my decals before the clear coat.

so how do you guys think I can fix these? I'm going to try to coat the whitening with future and see if when dry the white disappears, anyone have any other Idea? should I throw away my Microset? Thanks

I had this happen once on a SdKfz 250 or 251.
Try cutting slices in the film and reallpy setting solution then re-spary. Or get a sharp # 11 and cut along any straight edges and remove the film then respray.
Worst case, remove the decals and apply new ones.

I'm afraid it is not the decals, I checked and the film around the decal is allright, but the area where a aplied the decal solution onto paint is white. Thanks for the help anyway

Hi Dragonslain, I just had the same problem on my ASU-85, the only way I could fix this was by putting tremendous amounts of pastels over it.

Was it hot outside? Sounds like you sprayed when it was too hot or humid. Not sure how to fix it but next time don't spray in the heat

Good news!
I know what caused it. . .you really gotta shake the bejesus out of the can of clearcoat or it will "frost" on your model. Warming and shaking the can helps prevent this also.
Bad news. . I couldn't get mine to go away, ever!

OK, I remember it was really hot inside my room and I was even sweating.......

I applied some coats of future and it went back to when I had not clear coated. so now I am going to shake the dullcoat really well and see what happens, Thanks
(I'll show some pics )

You can also try to gently handbrush dullcote over those white areas. It worked for me a few times.
