Who's around me? I live in Lake County, Illinois and was wondering if any modelers are around Lake Co. IL , McHenry Co. IL, or Kenosha Co. WI ?

Sound off with a "Hey"

What, none of you live between Chicago and Milwaukee? But...that can't be right, There HAS to be a couple of us.
Or else we wouldn't have a I-Hobby Expo in Rosemont, Illinois in October
Right off I-294 by the airport (O'hare Intl.)
Hear of it? It was mentioned (by an Ad) in the Sept. FSM.
Well, I live about an hour away from Rosemont and want to know if any of ya are going to be there.

Waterboy,
I spent 2 months in Morris working for D.A.R.E.
I used to hang out by the canal and smoke....cigarettes.

Any of you guys been to Venture Hobbies in Wheeling? It was my LHS for more than 10 years before I moved. Check it out-it's worth the trip.

TOTALLY!
I am about 15 minutes from Crystal Lake.
I go to Venture Hobbies about every 6 months. I could spend thousands in that store.

I don't know if I am going to the I-Hobby Expo. Is there any reason to go if I'm not a Vendor or Merchandiser?

I haven't been to any kind of expo in years, but the first thing you need to check is if it is open to the public. If not, maybe Don or somebody at Venture can get you a vendor pass. Actually, if it's "Vendors Only" it's better cause that way you get to see all the new gizmos before they get to market, and sometimes you can even pick up free samples at the booths. You might even start looking for people who could get you into the other restricted expos, especially the ones at McCormick Place (Hardware show, Tool show, etc.) Years ago I got a pass to the electronics show from a friend who owned a video store-got some neat movie posters, AND got to meet a bunch of porn stars up close. Either way, go if you can.

Venture hobbies rocks man. I make it up there 3or 4 times a year. My wife loves it too, because she know that for my birthday and Christmas all she needs to to is order a gift certificate for me and I'm a happy man. They always have lots of great prices on clearance items and with the punchcard the give out you get $20 worth of stuff free with each $100 you spend.

Man, now I have to go to Venture this weekend! :-)
I need an El Camino 1:25 for a buddy and they just might have what I'm looking for.
