Hi guys. I am just back from Normandy and have taken a load of piccies. However, they're huge so I'll have to email them if anyone wants any of them. There's:

Pegasus Bridge
Royal Marines Centaur
M16 Halftrack and dismounted quad .50cals
Longue Sur Mere gun emplacement (extensive bunkers with guns intact)
Merville sur Mere gun emplacement (bunkers only)
Horsa glider
Airborne Jeep

All in all a great place to visit. Also went to Arromanche and Omaha, and highly recommend the Canadian memorial at Vimy. They have restored some of the tunnels and subway system as well as having both Canadian and German trench complexes. Didn't take pictures at these last few places... it didn't seem appropriate to do so. A very sobering reminder of a terrible sacrifice for freedom.

PM me if you want any pictures and I'll try to reduce them for email.

As so many seem interested here is a link to the gallery.

Juul and Thomas, it's done. I would like to put these pics in my gallery but they are huge(1.2mb). I know how to reduce their size for email (XP does it automatically) but not for uploading onto the net. Sorry. Unless someone can enlighten me.

That would be great. Approx 30 images, they'll be down to 640x480 because of the email process. But if you can then upload them that would be spiffing old chap!!

The 30 photographs are loaded up now. They can be seen here.

Definately worth a look. Excellent photographs and some beauties of bunkers, front and back.
Coupled with those that Juul has posted also ( see thread here ), its a great collection for those of us who haven´t had the chance to visit. Nice one winchweight!

Thats all at the moment. I live next to RAF Shawbury where they are restoring an original Horsa piece by piece. When I next get the chance I'll pop down and get more pictures for you.

Shaun .... maybe it would be an idea to edit your first post and add the direct link to them as some dont read all the posts, and wont see that the link is contained further down the page. I´ll pm you the link asit wont come out as HTML there. Just copy it direct from the pm.
