Has anybody ever bought the Italeri kit #221 Opel Maultier? Then my question is on the sprue the the tracks are on, there is a square piece that the directions don't mention, and there is nothing to show a use for it.

It is like a square grate like a deck plate with holes with raised ridges on each side of it [ that is how it is shaped, and the long part is full of tiny holes all the way across it it is 5/8"long by 1/2" wide between the ridges, and I was just wondering if there was another model that used such a piece, that instead of cutting it out they just ran it along with this model anyway.

Sounds like they've just used the same track sprue that came with the Panzer 1 kits, as the Maultier used the same type. The square plate is supposed to be wraped around the muffler in those kits. The Panzer 1 track sprue also had two short track lenghts for spairs

Never bought the kit. Can be that the object is used twice in the kit (than it says *2x* in the manual) or It is an optional part for a diffirent style of the tank.

The tracks included in the Italeri Maultier kit are the tracks from the Italeri/zvezda Pz1b kit.

The rectangular part is the shroud for the Pz1b muffler.

A muffler guard makes perfect sense, are one of them other kits numbers #207, or #222, cause now that I look at the sprue it has 3 different numbers on it including the #221 for the Maultier.
Thank you for your answers, now everything makes sense.
