thanks for the warm welcome guys!! yes, i am capable of posting pics of my finished builds. i only have 6 so far, as i spent the first 6 months in-hobby learning to airbrush. my main interest lies in WWII aircraft, mostly fighters, not too much on bombers, both axis and allies. i will gravitate towards modern aircraft as well though. again, thanks for the warm welcome guys. should i post my finished builds in the aircraft thread or where? or, should i post them at all?LOL later.

Ciao saltydog,
Hey, I live in LA, too. Here in Pensacola. Are you retired Navy, also? Welcome to the forum and you will grow to love this place.
Ciao in now

hi rob, no i'm not retired Navy, but i did serve 4 years in the USN from 1992 to 96' as an operations specialist onboard the USS Monterey, CG-61. went on 2 Med Cruizes. the first deployment was ok, then i begin to rapidly become digruntled. but i don't regret the experience and sense of direction the 4 years gave my life.

anyway, i was born and raised here where i live.

Ciao saltydog,
Good to hear. A fellow sailor. I believe that Dave (Grumpyoldman) was a Sailor, also (with a very interesting history, I might add.) If you live near Pensacola, you have got to try Bobe's Hobby Shop. Mike is really a good guy, and really knows his stuff. They have a webpage if you want it.
Ciao for now

Rob, i frequent Bobe's about once a month or so lately. i just discoverd John's models too, what a wonderful little hole in the wall!! i was at the Blue Angel's homecoming show last Nov. and plan to go to this year's as well. i plan to enter some builds in the contest that is happening in conjuction with the show. i love the museum on base there!! awesome!! maybe we could meet at the show or something. are you in the Modelleers Club there? i thought about joining, but i live about 80 miles from p'cola and it'd be a squeeze to be very active in it.

thanks for all the nice welcomes friends. later.

Ciao saltydog,
Oh, yeah, I will be at the air show. I am a policeman onbase, so I have to work both days of the show. Yeah, I would like to give you a shout at the show.
I have been to John's models once, but it is so far away for me (I live over in west Escambia, about five minutes from the base.) Bobe's is great, though. I know a guy that lives in Foley, and travels over to Bobe's. No, I don't belong to any clubs. Don't really have time right now.
Yeah, the museum is great and you can't beat the price (free). I would have entered the contest, but it is $80 just to enter (that is a lot of models, you know.)
Glad you joined us here. We need to get together sometime. We'll keep in touch.
Ciao for now
Rob
