Anyone order from/do business with this company? Is their catalog worth the $5.00?

Greetings, You may have already been there, but Plastruct has a web site with an online catalog. http://www.plastruct.com. I use their structural parts in lots of differant scales. The range is pretty broad. Check 'em out. Scott

The main thing is to have a good time

I've ordered from them in the past and yes their catalog is worth it. It's a good Idea though to clearly understand the sizing in tenths of an inch. OTherwise you might buy alot of stuff you don't need(have never found anything to do with modelling to be something I don't need) If your planning alot of scratch building you can't go wrong. I think there was another company that made similar stuff called Evergreen but don't know if they are still around

I'd use the http://www.plastruct.com as it will be the most up to date.
I've got a TON of "piping" related stuff that was given to me along with some structural & large diameter "pipe".

There's always a collection of their products in one of the local hobby shops. I used their products, but mostly use Evergreen plastics or unbranded material. Quality is OK .
