Allied jerry cans,ammo boxes?

What was the colour of jerry cans and ammo boxes during WWII used by the allies about 44/45.The instruction sheet says olive drab,but i dont want them to be the same colour as the Tank.any one please help thanks

Just mix a quantity of shaded OD (lighter, preferably) and use that exclusively for the extra equipment. Then shade them each with a different wash or hightlights. That way, you maintain authenticity with the accentuation of different colors. Just a suggestion. Besides, OD is the only color I've ever seen for (US, anyway) cans.

As long as there are no German tanks or figures in the scene sometimes I use German Field Green as a green variation if I feel too lazy to mix.

For boxes I sometimes leave them wood color to simulate a box that didn't receive the OD spray.

For oil drums and jerry cans sometimes I paint them steel.

you can use german ones and paint them dark yellow or even grey. due to the shortage of fuel cans the allies started using any german ones they could find.
