Just wanted to ask for advice on which e-stores would be best for me in Egypt. Are Greatmodels.com and MilitaryHobbies.com reliable? I've tried Hobbyeasy.com but over a week has passed and they haven't even shipped my order yet. I've yet to see when I actually get it! Being the only one in this country interested in modelling is difficult!! Thanks.

well, it is kind of difficullt when it comes to shipping to another countries, specially overseas, but I guess that the faster they ship your order the fastest you will get it, so never make business with them again :-)
Oh, and welcome to armorama! we would like to know what your interests in modelling are, and probably even the chance of seeing your work

welcome to the world of armorama my friend. I cannot really help with many online stores but blast models in France is not to bad.
http://blast-models.com/
I ordered from them once and their service is not bad but not good either as it was a hassle for me to get money to them plus the exchange rate to euros for me stinks.

Alpenflage hobbies is another good one in the States and Rob, the owner, is also a member here as well

I used Hobbyeasy and was quite pleased with their prices and the service. Yes it takes time when you order overseas. You will find (as I have--but they are usually less expensive) Great Models and Roll models very slow at times. The only one that is consistently fast is Squadron, but you pay for that service. So weigh how fast you want it versus the cost.

I guess the main problem with Hobbyeasy, really, is that over a week has passed with no word. I thought they'd at least keep me up to date as to what was going on. I ordered from Hometownhobbies sometime ago and they were great. They kept me up to date almost on a daily basis until the order was finally filled and shipped. But unfortunately, they stopped accepting international credit cards for some reason. I mean, I don't remember any problems happening when they debited my card, so... Guess I'll just have to suffer and wait! But thanks for everybody's input.

For Egypt, I would suggest perhaps a European vendor, shipping alone would probably be a lot cheaper Perhaps someone on that side of the pond could help you more, than I can.

you could always try luckymodel as they process your order very quickly and send emails at each stage of the ordering process I had a kit delivered from Hong Kong in 4 days

Welcome!you might try Hobby Link Japan. They have all of the Asian manufacturers at pretty good prices. Great models Webstore is excellent! They have wonderful service (if it's in stock) and Squadron Mail Order from the US is also very good about keeping you informed and they carry EVERYTHING! They ship next day! You might pay more for the overseas shipping. Each oe of these companies has a website, which, unfortunately I don't have in front of me right now. Just search the web for the keywords Greatmodel/ Squadron Mail Order/ or Hobby-Link Japan.
I lived in Germany for 12 years and I ordered from Squadron Mail Order with no problem.
Hope this helped a little,
Bodeen

I am a modeller in Saudi Arabia and we have just one modelling shop here. But recently I have found out about Elite Models in Beirut, Lebanon and they have even been very generous at sending me one of model for free including shipping since I was there first customer in Saudi Arabia. It took some time to get here though but it did arrive. It's so cheap too compared to European or American shops! Try to google it or maybe try looking for it in the recommended sites on the lower right corner of Armorama's homepage. I listed it there.

Hi,
You can also try HANNANTs in the UK. It's not cheap because of the exchange rate but they have a good service.
