Sullino,
I think you are right. When models are built from the box, they are in mint condition as if they just left the factory. It takes the whole range of scratchbuilding techniques to simulate accidents, wear and tear or battle damage. The worse the accident, the more experience it takes to make it look real. Not easy. If you want to start a destruction forum, check with Jim. You can moderate it, and soon be known to the world as Sully The Destroyer.

Where's my funky Iraqi general rank that was here on my profile a few years ago? Did they strip my rank, after all I've done for this forum ? Robbery!!

i would support this kinda forum. sounds useful to me :-D but i also think it should be a forum for all things destroyed or battle damaged. tank blown to bits, crashed airplane. sinking ship.. all these things are immense into the skill range

I hope this topic takes off -wrecks always fascinated me. (Not in a bad way. I feel sorry for those who lost their lives in wars and accidents.)
I really would like to read some professional advice. (I'm planning on buying a started kit cheap to have something to practice on scratchbuilding, weathering, etc. before I start damaging my precious DML tanks. Somehow the unintentional damage I make does not look convincing...) #:-)
By the way, airplanes. Take a look at this topic [url=https://armorama.kitmaker.net/forums/68845&page=1[/url]
-especially the Zero and the Ju-88 wrecks...

Let us know what you plan to do. Wrecks usually are a totally different level of scratchbuilding, especially when you split open a vehicle like a watermelon.

I agree. At least a class of some sort for tips and techniques would be useful.
