Well,
I did it.
Bought myself a Sherline Mill & Lathe setup.
I've assembled them and only tried the Milling Machine.

So... how is it?
How much are you planning to do with it? Turn barrels, roadwheels? Fuel Drums?
How much background knowledge do you need to have to make one work and produce anything of modeling value?
How steep is the learning curve?
Mike

I have machining experience, On full size machines...
I'm planning on writing up a review sometime in the next few weeks (as my Schedule allows) There is some assembly required but it's fairly simple. I've only tested out the milling machine. It's Great to work with.
It's an expensive investment (over 2k) for the 6000 package. I also got the lathe riser set.

Matt,
You did the right thing. I have been a prototype machinist for 30 years and have a machine shop at home as well and would not consider building models without the capability. Lookin' forward to your milled abd turned 'goodies'. I have been posting some machined 'stuff' on another thread. https://armorama.kitmaker.net/forums/28285&page=1

I took a few min last night and Cast a Cylinder in resin.
Now all I need is another shopvac!! These seem to be vert versatile tools for the modeler.

William, Sherline offers these as CNC ready, or as a set with a computer or you can do it all after the fact if you need to do it bit by bit.
