After borrowing a Sony a lot of times, I finally got my own digital camera!
It's the Canon A80...

Anyone who has the same and knows any good or bad about it?
(and yeah, I wanted to show off... )

Congratulations !
Now you can take your photos whenever you want !

I ask myself, may be this is a good idea for the plastic model manufacturer : Model kit including a digital camera !

Jurgen,
I recently purchased the A75 on 24 June, and I loved it. Three days ago the flash stopped working. I wrote an e-mail to their support, and was informed that I would have to have it serviced. I took it back to where I bought it from and they replaced it. That said, I love that camera. I have no idea of whether it was bad luck or what, but I really like the camera. I hope this one lasts longer than 2 weeks!!!!
Ciao for now

Beautiful! Canon just makes the best cams out there! Right now, I'm saving up for an EOS 300D :-)

You got a good camera Jurgen!!! The folding screen is awsome (I have a Canon G3 which has the screen. When I bought it I didn't think I'd use it as much as I do). Also, you can manually adjust the apeture (Av on the spinner) so when you take macro shots (extreme closeups) more of the pic will be in focus. The higher the F number, more of the pic will be in focus..

I bought my A80 3 weeks ago and I'm very very happy with it! Fully manual mode is really tempting!!Great can for 350euros (is a bit expensive here in portugal)! Now I'm looking for a 128 or 256 Compact Flash memory card and a good tripod...the problem is that I dont know if I should pay attention to the cards brand or if I can buy the cheapest...the same with the tripod...what should I look for?

CYA!

Well I looked at :

http://www.dcresource.com
http://www.dpreview.com
http://www.digitalcamera-hq.com/
http://www.nomatica.pt
http://www.pixmania.com

Just looked at the top 10 sold digicams then compared to my budget....After choosing 3 or 4 cam's I started to compare each other in that dprivew's site, in the buyers menu, putting them side-by-side. I can recommend the A80 as the best one for who's starting, and it can even be used in fully manual model, wich is very important when taking pictures of your kits. You can "grow up" with the machine

Cya!
