I decided to made weldings on my T-34/85. It was my first try and I wanted to try the 'paint method'.

I made some pictures to make it more clear.

I used a sharp scalpel blade to make the weldings

I used Humbroll Enamels.

Then you apply the thick paint

Then you wait untill the paint is almost hardened, then you make weldings with your scalpel.

Then you remove the tape

Then you smooth the sides of the weldings with your scalpel

To do this side of the turret took me +/- 15 minutes. It was quite easy to do. So I hope that my contribution is useful for the ones (like me) that never made weldings before. It is obviously that my weldings could be far more precise, but it is my first try and it turned out pretty good (I think)

They look pretty good!!! like a nice rough mass production weld.... give the tools of the time
(unlike the CNC robotic welders of today)

Looks Great,
And exactly what I like to see, creative, easy tips, that aren't going to cost and arm and a leg. That everyone can apply, and use, and give a decent representation, and didn't take all day to apply.

Fast, simple and easy.

Ola Jurjen

I think this technique deserves a Feature. I have heard of it before but I have never seen the technique being showed like this in pictures. and now it makes more sense to me Thanks for clearing this up for me.

They look awesome! The only problem I see is the perfect 90 degree angle on the topmost weld.
