First of all, unless you want to kill off a few million brain cells, open a window and get out of the AO. ALWAYS make sure you have proper ventilation when using paint, solvents, glue, etc. I airbrush on the back balcony with the door closed, all windows open, and a fan blowing outside. When I'm assemblying and brush painting, the kitchen window is open and I have a small fan blowing gently (don't want to lose those damn tiny peices). I also take a break every 1/2hr or so (rest eyes, stretch legs, unscrunch back).

One way which is easy is to use acrylics. There really is no smell to it.

Much depends on the choice of paint. Acrylics are better than oil-base paints.
Worst paint I ever tried was a Tamiya spray paint bottle with white primer. Killed all the flies in the street and a few cats and dogs too... !

When using acrylics, you get rid of the worst smell problems. Good ventilation is imporatant too !

Only a few weeks ago, CA glue fumes got into my eye. I have the impression this had a slight negative impact on my eyesight. I'll see my optician in a few months and I'll have it checked. Please be careful with the stuff !!!

BTW, I am planning to buid my custom spray booth. Do you have anny sugestions what material should I use for the filters (that filters that will keep the fumes and paint particles from getting fanned outside)?
