I need help... I am wanting to construct some hydraulic lines on my 1/48 scale landing gear for a BF-109 plane. Anyone have any suggestions as far as materials and tips? Thanks!

You can use solder and fine wire, or even thin styrene rods, works fine for me.

I'm with Paul and 'Roo too!

For 1/48th scale stuff especially, I'd go with solder...

How about taking an old telephone wire, stripping it down and using the individual wires??

Any thin, soft wire will do, but the very best is thin solder. It bends and conforms to any curvature. Radio Shack carries a good assortment of thin wires and solder.

I concur with all the other postings. I use a variety of things and masking tape cut into thin strips to use as attaching straps/bands around the struts. A small drop of CA keeps the tapes ends in place. "Q"

Use them thin PVC covered wires that you can disassemble from your home electronic system. I opened up a mini sound systems, and there are tons of little wires in it of various gauge that I can use.

Just open up your DVD player or the stereo. (the one you no longer use of course)

I've been working on my two SPG's, and all the different sizes of hoses, and the ones on the loading shoots, the wires I couldn't seem to find anything that looked right, so I was playing with the .020" hex rod I already had, and it bent just right, and looked like it will work.
So now I ordered some new round plastic stock of .020" to be the hoses for the loading shoots on my SPG's.
So if you don't haft to bend them to sharp then something like this might work for you.
hope this helps.

Best regards Kerry
