Hey everyone. Until about a year and a half ago i had no idea wat a diorama truely was. But then my boyfriend who is a great modeler (jackhammer81) introduced me to this great art. I have prowled around this and other model sites, looking, watching, and learning from the many great modelers that are around, and i have never ceased to be amazed at what i find. As of yet i have not attempted a diorama of my own, but do plan to do so in the near future.
A little inside information about me..My name is Mary and i reside in South Carolina where i spend most of my days working as a nuclear med. tech for a Cardiology office. In short that means i do Stress Tests, Heart Monitors, and general patient care as related to the cardiac(heart)world. I have two wonderful boys one 13 and one 11, of which the youngest of the two is starting to show an intrest in models.
Im very glad to be a member of this fine site and would like to extend a special thank you to Slodder who has helped me on many occassions with the many questions i have had.

Mary, Finally you posted an intro I guess this means you will be spending more time talking to people in here instead of just looking around. I also guess I won't get so much of a hard time for always being in "Aromorama" lol I'll now. I'm glad you have gotten around to meeting people here. And i can't wait for you to start on your dio. Love ya Kevin

Great, my girlfriend is going to see that women get into scale modeling and then BAM! she'll be in my tools and paint and I'll have to rebuild my workbench to accomodate her building...and...

Wait...

My wife buys me kits. One reason is it keeps me in the house. But she sometimes helps me out.

Welcome Mary! It's fabulous to have a spouse/girlfriend interested in the "Art". As Kevin knows I'm running off to get married in CO next week, and I love the fact she actually has a interest in what I do for fun. She does'nt model (yet), but she has taken to make some scale rugs and stuff for me. The best of both worlds and no " you never spend time with me" stuff, it's GREAT! Kevin is very skilled, so you will have a great mentor, not to mention the best resource on the net! Anxiously awaiting your first stab at it!

You're in now!! This is just like hide and seek. You've been hiding until now, now you're out in the open and it's nice to see you posting.

As always - any questions - just ask. You'll get answers!

Thanks

Hi Tanky, what a great relationship,a couple that can model together.
Now join your first group build, build a kit with all sorts of extras, then build a kit and type a review.
it's all good!

Once again id like to thank all of you have so graciously welcomed me into the armorama family. I think as a female, we tend to feel like this is a mans world and we dont fit in. But thanks to everyone here i know thats not the case. A special thank you to all that have been so helpful with the questions i have had, and especially to the guys that i have met in the chat room.
Thanks so much.
