Hey guys n gals
I've been noticing some wrecked models with fake smoke and fire coming out of them and i wondered if any of you expert modellers know how this is done?
If so please share the secret with us.

oh gosh, i've never been good at it i can tell you this though, its used with cotton....and when you do it, be careful, pracitce a few, once again i've never been real good at it, i'm more of a good airbrusher....not flame creator

i have seen flames made out of epoxy putty and smoke out of cotton.

I think making realistic flames probably ranks up there with finding the Golden Fleece. Just do the best you can using putty or a reddish stained clear made from sprue. The trick with smoke is to use cotton then shade it from black to light greay, then work it so that it is wispy. I had a grey dog and used some of his hair once to depict light smoke coming from a debis pile. It looked OK not great, but not junky.
