I am doing a Hummel from Dragon . My base color is Tamiya xf60 dark yellow. My second coat is xf 60 and Tamiya xf2 flat white one part of each.now I want to do green strikes(xf61 drak green) on it .Should I use the same percentage of flat white (50-50) for a diffuse look.

qestion no.2 I am scare to make a wash with black on yellow should I do it anyway . I hope my question
are clear enough and that experience will come

i cant help you on #1, but on #2 i would not use black to wash with, darken the base color and use that, make sure its not extremly dark, or it might make it look a little fake

you can also use some pastels to help difuse some of the color too. good luck

Roger:

I would lighten the green up a little, but maybe not 50 percent. Play with it until you get the mix you like.

As far as washes, I use a two part wash on german yello.
One wash of XF-59 (desert yellow) followed by a wash of raw umber. I do the umber really ligt on most of the vehicle, but in hig-grime areas you can go a little heavier.

This is what it ends up looking like... WELCOME to the Site

You are correct for the sand color ..50% is alot I would go more like 25 to 30% and then add a bit more for the last coat... For greens I never use white as I find it "grays" the color . Use Tamiya's buff or deck tan and you'll see your green will stay green ..
I use Raw Umber and Burnt Umber oil paints on dark Yellow vehicles (and most others too) for my washes instead of black.
