advice on compressor

Am buying a new air compressor tomorrow to replace my old crap one .what i need to know is 99 watts loud as i dont want a loud compressor thanks all

I'm not meaning to nit-picky but sound isn't measured in watts, electricity is. On the other hand if you meant decibels, yeah 99 dbs is very loud.

Everything just depends on what you want to spend and what you utimately want to use it for- airbrushing only, utility use etc...

I have a loud compressor that I use for other things, but I work with loud equipment on a daily basis so I just put on my hearing protection!

Db is a unit of sound and 99 is very high. Sound has a cumulative effect. So, like our kids with their Walkman's playing so loud we can hear them 20 feet away, buy stock in hearing aid companies.

You may have bought it already but if your buying a hobby compressor with a holding tank (or without for that matter) you'll notice that many are very quiet as it is. Must admit I was very happy with the one I bought....and it's very quiet.
