Err... the F-16. The glass part should be gold in tint. Not yellow.

i think that is the color of the canopy that comes with the model.

Yep, but I've no access to a paint that's clear gold. Would you suggest adding tamiya "smoke" color to that yellow shade to achieve a gold tint?

very nice, very nice indeed!
if you didnt say that its 1/144th scale, i would've mistaken them for 1/72nds! what paint did you use?
yup, adding smoke would do the trick.
keep us posted!

Nice paint job, wash & weathering can help to highlights the panel lines.

Thank you sir for the encouraging words from a master modeler such as yourself.

Most of the surfaces were painted with gunze mr. color lacquers. Some parts are painted with acrylics though like that silver part on the tail of the F-15, the F-16's neutral gray radome, and those olive drab pilots.
Okay I'll give it a dose of smoke this weekend.

Here's a secret.... would you believe that I preshaded that F-15 before it was painted with gunze lacquer H-308 Light Gray (FS36375)? Ehehehe.

Unfortunately I lacked the skill of getting that pre-shaded effect and overdid it thus losing the desired effect. I guess I'll just give it a wash after applying the decals. :-)

I agree with the canopy shape.... what can you suggest to me on what to do to enhance it? Scratchbuild ko sana or vacuform but I neither have the materials nor the know-how to do it yet.

Is there another F-16 in 1/144 scale you know of that has the right canopy shape that I can kit-bash? I have the Academy 1/144 but I feel that it won't fit this Dragon e.
And honga pala, the yellow colored canopy is my fault.... ehehehe.... I painted it clear yellow. Ehehehe.

:-)

cbrain,
you mentioned preshading on the succeeding posts... hmm.... havent tried that myself...
i've read some articles on preshading... but to be effective, i think the paint should not be too thin or too thick... any suggestiong on how not to 'overdo' it?
thanks!

Haven't tried it but here's the order of paint from base coat to top coat:
1. Laquer
2. Enamel
3. Acrylic
Don't apply laquer to enamel or acylic since the preshading will not take effect. Otherwise, laquer over laquer should work.

I guess avoiding to spray the paint too thickly so as to allow the pre-shading to be seen through would do the trick. I still need a lot of practice regarding this though to perfect this technique.
