I never knew this forum was here. Great Idea folks. Anyway, on to my post...
This past week the Army's only remaing heavy Cavalry regiment, the 3d ACR, dedicated a memorial to my fallen brothers and sisters who we lost in Iraq. There was a huge gathering of troopers from the Regiment, the fallen soldiers families, local media, and veterans of the regiment. The memorial stands 10-12' high and is black marble with an engraving of the print "Tribute" on one side and the country of Iraq on the other. Our fallen comrades are listed at the base of the memorial...almost 50 of them. The ceremony lasted approximately 45 minutes and when complete there was not a dry eye anywhere to be found. If you are ever in Colorado Springs, stop by and pay your respects to my fallens friends. I toasted a beer to this past week end to all of them as I'm sure others did too.
"Brave Rifles! You have been baptized in fire and blood and have come out steel!!"
